Yaseer El Shall was born in Cairo, Egypt, and migrated to New Zealand 24 years ago. Now well settled in this beautiful country he describes himself as a loving husband to a wonderful woman who has been his biggest strength. He is a proud father of four children, two boys and two girls, and more recently has been blessed with grandchildren. Yasser has a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Business Management, a Diploma in Business Administration and a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing. “

He is currently leading the Refugee Settlement Support Services in Auckland at Kāhui Tū Kaha. He helped establish this service and other services at Kāhui Tū Kaha including the Muslim Mental Health and Well Being Service. On Behalf of Te Rūnanga O Ngāti Whātua, Kāhui Tū Kaha Extends Manaakitanga to all people through a range of health, housing and social services.

Yasser is a Community Leader, being a Muslim and believing in his responsibility to give back to the community, he has volunteered with Victim Support for 14 years as a Suicide, Homicide, Family and Domestic Violence, and Sexual Violence specialist. Yasser is a key contact for the West Auckland Foster Care Support Association helping it to grow and offer support to over 200 local caregivers. He received a ‘The Excellence in Foster Care Award’ in 2017, presented by the Governor-General.

For eight and a half months, Yasser travelled to Christchurch to work with the victims of the Mosque shootings. He received the CEO 2019 “Pegasus Health Champion Award” in Acknowledgment of his outstanding work.
