Nandita Mathur is the Design Lead for the Ethnic Health Collective and has worked with the Strategy Group to develop the inaugural Strategic Plan. She will be responsible for delivering the Strategic Plan and establishing the collective as a well-recognised and influential public health think tank focusing on achieving health equity for ethnic communities.
Nandita has a background in population health with a focus on community mobilisation to create social change. She finished her master’s at Delhi University, specialising in Child Development, and her master’s thesis focused on youth gangs and their rehabilitation.
She has worked in various roles with International and national NGOs in India and Aotearoa, United Nations and with the New Zealand Government. She has extensive experience in service design and delivery, change management, and working in an applied policy and political environment. Her last role before committing to lead the work of the Ethnic Health Collective was with the Ministry for Ethnic Communities as the Regional Manager for the Northern Area. She worked in that role for over three years and had the privilege of being part of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for establishing the Ministry.
